These pure Titanium Super Rings have been specifically made to go into modern Carbon based laminate sails, where in the past the standard rings would suffer from electrolysis corrosion. Being made from pure titanium these rings do not suffer from any form of corrosion and so are the only choice for this demanding application. They can be inserted using the standard Rutgerson Super Ring Tools.
The rings are made up of three parts: toothed washer, centre piece and plastic insert.
Remember only Rutgerson rings have their own ingenious ring remover!
The Super Ring was invented by Göran Rutgerson, CEO and owner, during the 70’s and it has since then lead the way of cost efficient solutions in sailmaking. The rings are not only used by the majority of sailmakers in the industry, but also by parachute and various cover manufacturers, food producers as well as suppliers to the oil and gas industry. When inserted into a cloth, the Super Ring’s teeth penetrate easily without damaging the surrounding areas. In addition to this, the teeth of the Super Ring are evenly spaced to provide maximum holding power as they bend uniformly to spread the load.
