The Blue / Standard (cruising/racing) RBS Roller Battens are for cruising or racing in standard conditions.

Manufactured from a unique material, the RBS Roller Battens are lightweight, extremely durable and offer quality performance. They are unaffected by moisture and impact compared to existing solutions.

The minimum roll diameter for the RBS Blue / Standard (cruising/racing) Roller Battens is 4.5'' / 12cm. Keep the sail furled to meet these minimum diameters when the battens are being used. For best performance and longevity the roller battens should be orientated to not roll on top of themselves when furled.

To enable proper furling the Roller Battens are marked with a coloured tab indicating the aft/back and the RBS Logo sticker to indicate the side of the batten that needs to be placed on the inside of the roll when furled. The sleeves also have blue threaded stitching to indicate the inside of the batten. Reversing either of these will disable a proper furl and can potentially lead to failure.

These battens are manufactured in a standard 50mm width for ease of use with standard batten pockets and the possibility to vary batten configuration.

RBS suggests removing the roller battens from the sail when not sailing to ensure a longer and more responsive life. The longer period that the roller battens are kept rolled up, the longer it may take for them to regain their proper unfurled shape. They will also soften over time, with softening occurring much more rapidly if the battens are kept furled more regularly and for longer periods of time.

RBS also produce Yellow / Light Roller Battens for cruising and racing in lighter wind conditions, and Red / Heavy Roller Battens for larger boats and serious racing applications.
