This Ocean Racer range of tapered leech battens are designed with a soft tip allowing them to be used anywhere in the sail. These leech battens can be used in mainsails and jibs alike. They are ideally suited for all CHS, IMS, and IOR rules. These battens have set an industry standard and are used in all applications from cruising to Admirals Cup.

The standard batten width of this range allows for standard batten pocket width for ease of production in the loft and minimum stock holding. The degree of batten stiffness varies accordingly to the profile used, ranging from OR1 as the softest up to OR5. Amazon is the new durable maxi full batten with amazing stiffness for weight, some 50% stiffer than OR5.

Batten selection is simplified, just decide on stiffness required e.g. OR1, OR2 etc and refer to the application guide for specific recommendations. To maximise ease of use and production of the Ocean Racer Leech battens we would suggest using the standard stock batten lengths listed.

For the inboard end of these battens either a plain blank end cap or an inner triangle end cap can be fitted. For the outboard end we recommend using the outer triangle end caps. Outer Triangle end caps are a standard width but available in various versions depending upon profile selected. These will fit directly onto the outboard end, even if the batten has been cut to length. Please specify end caps when ordering battens.
